We love to write stories about people, places, happenings - the gossip (or tales). That’s the part we remember from our travels. I don’t remember how much I paid for room in or a gelato in Aix-en-Provence, but I clearly remember the stories shared.

Bio:

My wife and I love to travel, especially outside the United States. We travel light, typically with a backpack and a few changes of clothing, and we travel slowly, savoring the colors, the culture, the people, the doorways, the cats, the dogs, the staircases, the bicycles, the children, and particularly the cuisine of our destination. Our plans tend to be fairly general. Example: Head down to Guatemala, land in Guatemala City. Upon landing, catch a local bus to Antigua. Find a room for a couple of nights, unpack, start exploring, exchange money, enjoy a good drink, choose a dinner place. How’s the lighting for pictures? Where do we want to stand to watch the sunset? The sunrise?

Hiking, walks, museums, markets, and people watching are favorite activities. Meeting and talking with travelers and local residents is a lot of fun. We spent hours watching the antics of iguanas in Guayaquil and hours more slogging through rain forests and jungles hoping to view orchids in their natural habitats. We travel to enjoy life at its best.
